Giving Back: Our Annual Support for Toys for Tots 

A magical transformation occurs as the clock strikes midnight on November first. Skeletons and spider webs disappear from porches and bushes, making way for wreaths and twinkle lights that herald the arrival of the holiday season. But at Industrial Repair Service, we believe that true holiday spirit is about more than just decorations. It’s about making a difference, and we invite our customers and community to join us in spreading some cheer.

Every year, our offices across the country donate to Toys for Tots. Toys for Tots, created in 1947 by Marine Corps Reserve Major Bill Hendricks and his wife Diane, has had a mission to spread joy by distributing gifts for underprivileged children. What started as a small mission of collecting toys throughout Los Angeles communities bloomed into an organization, especially with the help of Bill’s celebrity friends, including Walt Disney, who designed the first poster. The organization was officially recognized as a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit charity in 1991 and has brightened children’s holidays ever since! 

From November first to December thirteenth, we encourage our customers to drop off new, unopened, and unwrapped toys at any of our locations. Our corporate office will serve as a toy collection point, and all gifts dropped off at offices other than Atlanta will be shipped to headquarters. Shortly after the collection period, a Marine, accompanied by the Toys for Tots volunteers, will pick up the donations, which will be delivered to a child on Christmas morning.
