Whether it’s our skilled technicians repairing industrial equipment or the account managers building lasting customer connections, every team member plays an important role at Industrial Repair Service (IRS). This month, we’re excited to spotlight Kelsey O’Brien, one of our Account Managers based at our headquarters.

Kelsey joined Industrial Repair Service in April and has been helping customers navigate their industrial repair needs since. Outside of work, Kelsey has plenty to celebrate, including her recent wedding, family milestones, and a few exciting projects.

Let’s get to know Kelsey a little better!

A Favorite Show to Watch

After a busy day, nothing beats settling in with a good TV show. For Kelsey, it’s also an opportunity to spend quality time with her husband.

When asked about an interesting watch or read lately, she shared:

“My husband and I have been watching Reacher lately, and we’ve really enjoyed it! It’s definitely become one of our go-to shows to watch together.”

Helping Customers When It Matters

For Kelsey, working in inside sales gives her the opportunity to make someone’s day, and it is what makes her role rewarding.

She explained:

“The most rewarding part of my job is simply being able to help people. I enjoy knowing that what I do can make someone’s day a little easier and help solve a problem when they need it most.”

A New Hobby on the Horizon

Even with a busy schedule, Kelsey has a creative hobby she’d love to explore.

When asked what she’d like to try but hasn’t had the opportunity to yet, she said:

“I’d love to learn how to crochet! I think it would be fun to eventually be able to make things like blankets, sweaters, and gifts for friends and family.”

A Wedding Day to Remember

One of the biggest milestones in Kelsey’s life recently was marrying her husband, Logan. While weddings are filled with memorable moments, one part of their special day stands out above the rest.

When asked about her favorite wedding memory, Kelsey shared:

“My favorite part of our wedding day was definitely the ceremony. We got married in the church I grew up in, which is also the second-oldest church in North Carolina, so it was incredibly special. Standing at the altar with Logan, surrounded by the people we love most, was a feeling I’ll never be able to fully put into words.”

Building Skills Beyond the Office

Although Kelsey’s role at IRS focuses on customer accounts and inside sales, her interests extend into hands-on technical work.

When asked what skill she’d like to continue developing, she shared:

“I’d really like to continue working on my craft when it comes to fabrication and welding. My mom taught me how to weld at a young age, and my husband, Logan, is a welder, so it’s something I’ve always been around and enjoyed. We’re currently building our jon boat together, which has been a fun way for me to keep learning and sharpening my skills.”

Overcoming a Personal Challenge

Starting a new job can bring adjustments, and when asked about the biggest challenge she’s overcome, she explained:

“I took a year off from working to help care for my mom while she battled cancer. Once she was cancer-free, going back to work full-time was a big adjustment for me because I knew I wouldn’t always be as available to help if she needed me. I tackle it by taking things one day at a time and reminding myself how grateful I am that she’s healthy and doing well.”

Finding Motivation in Family

Everyone has something that motivates them to keep moving forward. For Kelsey, that inspiration comes from two people who have played an important role in her life.

When asked what drives her to work hard each day, she said:

“My biggest motivation comes from my mom and my husband, Logan. They are two of the hardest-working people I know and have always encouraged me to work hard for the things I want in life. They remind me every day to stay motivated, keep learning, and always put my best foot forward.”

Looking Forward to Fall

With the arrival of fall, Kelsey has a couple of exciting things on her calendar. When asked what she’s most excited about, she shared:

“I’m really looking forward to our honeymoon and spending some time away together as newlyweds! I’m also looking forward to hunting and hopefully getting a big buck this season!”

A Wonderful Addition to the IRS Team

Since joining Industrial Repair Service, Kelsey has brought a helpful attitude, a desire to keep learning, and a genuine interest in supporting customers. Her dedication to family and appreciation for hard work are all qualities that make her a great addition to our team.

We hope you enjoyed getting to know Kelsey a little better, and we look forward to sharing next month’s Employee Spotlight with you. Stay tuned!
