Employee Spotlight: Meet Delaney Sweets, Account Manager at Industrial Repair Service

At Industrial Repair Service (IRS), our team is the foundation of everything we do. Each month, we highlight one of the individuals who helps drive our success.
This February, we’re excited to spotlight Delaney Sweets, one of our dedicated Account Managers. Since joining IRS in May of last year, Delaney has become an important part of our inside sales team:
As an Account Manager, Delaney guides clients through the repair process, answers questions, and ensures clear communication at every step. Her role requires organization, adaptability, and a strong commitment to customer service.
Let’s take a closer look at Delaney’s journey, interests, and perspective through her own words.
Meet Delaney
Delaney joined Industrial Repair Service after graduating with her bachelor’s degree. When asked what she’s most proud of accomplishing at IRS, Delaney shared:
“I am proud of moving into inside sales shortly after starting as an appointment setter. Coming into a corporate environment shortly after graduating with my bachelor’s degree, I am proud of myself for not only gaining an understanding of what this industry’s needs are but also forming a solid foundation for my career.”
What She’s Enjoying Lately
Outside of work, Delaney enjoys staying connected to books, movies, and performances that inspire her. When asked what she’s watched or read recently, she shared her love for one standout favorite:
“It’s been a few months since it came out, but I am such a big Wicked fan. When Wicked For Good came out, I was at the first showing, and I have already seen it at least 5 more times since. It truly has changed me for good.”
The Most Rewarding Part of Her Role
For Delaney, the heart of her job lies in connecting with people. When asked what she finds most rewarding, she explained:
“The relationships are by far the most rewarding part of working in inside sales. I love talking to people and getting to know their story, so cultivating these relationships has been one of my favorite parts of my role here at IRS.”
A Meaningful Travel Experience
One of Delaney’s favorite personal experiences involves travel and family. When asked to share a fun fact that surprises people, she spoke about a special trip:
“I had the opportunity to travel around Ireland with my grandmother. I am lucky enough to learn about Irish culture and be part of my own family’s heritage.”
How She Unwinds After Work
After a busy week supporting customers and managing accounts, Delaney values time to relax and recharge. When asked how she decompresses, she shared:
“I love spending time with my siblings and my friends. If I am not spending time with them, I usually am cuddled up watching a new tv show or working on my current crochet project.”
Advice for New Team Members
Having grown within the company, Delaney has valuable advice for employees who are just starting their careers at IRS. When asked what guidance she would give, she said:
“Go in with an open mindset. If you approach something with a preconceived outcome, you’ll find you are limiting yourself. By having this open mindset towards what you do, you’ll find yourself pleasantly surprised.”
Exploring Other Roles
Delaney enjoys learning about different areas of the business and understanding how each role contributes to customer success. When asked which job she would try for a day, she shared:
“I would love to do outside sales for the day. I had the opportunity recently to go visit my sales territory and meet many of my customers, and I found a lot of joy in those visits. Though being on the road for most of the week does sound daunting, it’s hard to beat the quality face-to-face interactions you can have while being an outside rep.”
Looking Ahead
As Delaney continues to grow in her role, she’s excited about what lies ahead. When asked what she’s looking forward to this year, she shared:
“I’m excited to see what opportunities come my way as I fully settle into my role as account manager. I’m excited to see what relationships I form and what challenges I overcome. I am also looking forward to my PTO renewing in May so I can take some quality time off.”
A Valued Member of the IRS Team
Delaney’s dedication, positive attitude, and relationship-focused approach make her a valuable part of the Industrial Repair Service team. From supporting customers to collaborating with coworkers, she consistently demonstrates professionalism and care in everything she does.
We hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know Delaney a little better. Be sure to check back next month as we continue our Employee Spotlight series and introduce you to more of the incredible people behind Industrial Repair Service. Stay tuned!
