September 22nd is the day all the pumpkin spice latte fans and sweater-loving people rejoice: They expect a new crisp breeze in the air and the scent of cinnamon wafting out of coffee shops. Why? Because it’s the first day of Autumn!

There is much to look forward to during the fall season, so here are five activities to make the most of it!

Baking Pumpkin Everything: From September into Thanksgiving, menus all over the country carry fall-themed items, and while ordering is a quick and easy way to indulge in your pumpkin favorites, there’s nothing like homemade bread, muffins, cookies, or pies. The smell of nutmeg and clove swirled into a pumpkin batter will linger throughout the house, and you’ll be left with a sweet, earthy dessert to bite into.

Apple Picking: Hate pumpkin goodies? Here’s an alternative; Head to an orchard with your friends or family, as it’s a great way to spend time outdoors, and you’ll also go home with organic apples that you can only handpick in the fall. Many farms also have outdoor activities and games, and fresh donuts with warm, sweet cider.

Visit Fall Festivals: Local farmers markets are all the rage during the season. Vendors are selling their products, from apple butter to opal jewelry, and often, there’s live music for a fun festive atmosphere. Make sure to check out the National Farmers Market Directory to see when these events take place near you.

Cozy Hikes: Many would argue that fall is the perfect season because of the temperature: it’s not too hot or cold and doesn’t carry the intense rain like spring does. It’s the perfect time for hikers or any outdoorsman to explore parks and forest trails while enjoying the breathtaking fall scenery along the way.

Football Games: One thing about America; No one does Football like the USA. While football season starts in August, it peaks through Autumn until it’s come down in February. There’s nothing like supporting a local high school game on Friday night or seeing your favorite D1 university play on Saturday mornings. Tailgates carry a certain magic, but if you don’t feel like being outside, invite the buddies over for game nights with fall treats!

Whatever your go-to Autumn activity is, there are so many ways to enjoy this special time of year. Just like trees shed leaves, your equipment might need to shed those persistent maintenance issues. Call us today for a FREE quote!
