Employee Spotlight: Meet Rick Mitchell, Servo Motor Technician at Industrial Repair Service

At Industrial Repair Service (IRS), great repairs start with the skilled technicians working behind the scenes. Each piece of equipment that comes through our doors requires experience, attention to detail, and a team committed to getting the job done right. This month, we’re spotlighting Rick Mitchell, a Servo Motor Technician based at our headquarters.
Rick has been part of the IRS team since 2021 and has become an essential member of our servo motor repair department.
Meet Rick!
Taking Pride in Quality Repairs
Servo motors play an important role in industrial equipment, making excellent repairs critical to getting machinery back into operation. When asked what he’s most proud of in the servo motor shop, he shared:
“Producing quality repaired motors for IRS customers”
A Team That Works Together
Industrial repair often requires techs to work together, share knowledge, and help solve problems. Having coworkers who are ready to lend a hand makes a difference when tackling the wide range of equipment and repair challenges that arrive in the shop.
When asked what he loves most about working at Industrial Repair Service, Rick said:
“I really enjoy working with a group of guys who are always willing and able to help each other out.”
Life Outside the Shop
When Rick isn’t repairing servos, he enjoys slowing things down and spending his free time with the people and activities that matter most to him.
He shared:
“I love spending time with my grandbabies, fishing, and camping.”
Keep at It!
Troubleshooting is a major part of industrial repair. Not every problem has an obvious answer, and finding the right solution can take patience and persistence.
That makes Rick’s favorite piece of advice especially fitting for the work he does today:
“Don’t give up on a problem. Keep at it!”
A Favorite IRS Memory
The past few years at IRS have given Rick plenty of time to make memories with his coworkers. We strive to provide our team with events that give them a chance to step away from HQ, spend time together, and have a little fun outside of work.
When asked about an event that stands out, he shared:
“In my five years with IRS, I really enjoyed the event we had at Stars and Strikes.”
An Extra Hour with Family
If you gave Rick one more hour in the day, there’s a good chance you’d find him spending it with family.
When asked how he would use the extra time, he said:
“Most likely spending it with my two-year-old granddaughter.”
Finding a Career in Electronics
Not everyone grows up knowing exactly what career they want to pursue. For Rick, his path into electronics developed naturally. When asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, he explained:
“I never really had anything in particular that I wanted to do. After high school, I kind of fell into electronics, which is where I ended up getting a degree.”
That path ultimately brought his technical knowledge and experience to the servo motor shop at Industrial Repair Service.
An Essential Part of the IRS Repair Team
Rick’s persistence when solving problems, commitment to producing quality work, and appreciation for teamwork have made him an extraordinary part of our repair team. We’re grateful for everything Rick contributes to Industrial Repair Service and proud to have him representing the skilled technicians behind our repairs.
We hope you enjoyed getting to know Rick a little better, and we look forward to sharing next month’s Employee Spotlight with you. Stay tuned!
